The Importance of Grace and Space
Negative self-talk affects how you feel and how you behave. Negative self-talk used to make up 90% of my inner dialogue. Your internal dialogue is continuous and shapes how you think, act, and see the world. How have I built up mental muscle? Grace and space.
Give yourself the space to allow yourself to breathe, to feel what you feel, to need what you need, and to not apologize for it. Giving yourself grace allows you to change your internal narrative– for the better. When we give ourselves grace, we can forgive ourselves for being human and making mistakes.
3 ways to implement grace & space: 1. Journaling – pour out all your thoughts on paper, then let go of them. 2. Mindful meditation – slow down racing thoughts, let go of negativity, calm mind and body. 3. A midday walk – 20-30 minutes can do wonders; gives you a chance to practice grace and space. Carve out time in your week to start implementing this practice. Like any mental exercise, it takes time to learn.
